Torre Internet Cafe, Combe Pafford School, Torquay

A recent customer is the Torre Internet Café, a café connected to Combe Pafford School in Torquay. Students, aged 14 – 16, from different schools in the town are studying for their hospitality diplomas and part of their course involves learning how to prepare food and customer service. The teenagers learn to operate the coffee machine themselves within the working café, giving the children a real insight into how a catering environment works. The café is situated just off the high street and serves the general public.

Jackie Appleby, a teacher at the school, had been looking for a coffee machine that served good quality drinks but was also easy to maintain. She asked her students why they liked the Bambino machine that they purchased from us.  Their responses included,

“It’s easy to fill and clean.” “We like the coffees and so do our customers.”

Jackie is very pleased with it. She told us she wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for any training establishment working with young people. “It’s a great starter machine,” she says.

Parklands City Learning Centre, Liverpool

Parklands City Learning Centre in Liverpool, recently installed one of our Platinum machines in its reception area, the second CLC to do so in the city.

Sarah Foy, Parklands’ Projects and Administration manager explained to us that they wanted to cut waste from their coffee making facilities and this is what impressed them about the Espresso Essential coffee machines. They also needed to be able to charge visitors for coffee easily, which the optional coin and token mechanism made possible, and cater for anything between 50 and 200 people an hour when conferences and large groups descend on the building.   Sarah says,

“My favourite drink is the chocolatte. People who use the coffee machine give us really good feedback on the drinks they receive. We are very pleased with it so far as it has completely cut out all the wasted coffee from our previous system.”

City Learning Centres are a government funded initiative, that provide IT and media educational centres to secondary school children and the primary feeder schools associated with them. Parklands CLC caters for 8 secondary schools and their teaching staff.  The excellent facilities include recording studios, theatre spaces, radio broadcasting studios and film and animation facilities along with ICT suites.  In addition, it is open to conference bookings and available for adult learners and community use.
